'DIETA' treatment in the jungle
Dieta with medicinal plants from the rainforest of Peru
is a so-called "DIETA" is a treatment in the rainforest that is accompanied by a curandero.
It can increase general well-being as well as relieve physical illnesses or serve spiritual development.
A DIETA at Marcial's camp includes taking medicinal plants, various ablutions with
herbal supplements (BAÑOS), a special reduced diet and individual care by Marcial.
Marcial selects the plants to suit the individual needs. They are collected by knowledgeable persons
either on the property itself, around the camp or in remote locations.
The preparation of the medicine or herbal washes is based on recipes that have been handed down over generations or developed on the basis of many years of experience.
In the understanding of curanderos, medicinal plants are not only active through their chemical components but also through their spirits. So that they can enfold their complete healing powers, they need specific conditions in the person searching for healing. These are achieved through the tradicional 'dieta' in which all disturbing exterior influences are eliminated. Thus, within a strict 'dieta', not only food is kept very simple (not sugar, salt, or fat) but also a personal retreat with limited social interaction is required.
The ingested plants can the interact with the person on a physical, spiritual and energetic level, cleansing and strengthening him (or her), and actvating the inner healing power.
Usually the meals during a dieta consist of certain kinds of fish as well as yucca or plantains which are prepared very carefully.
Since the plants of the Amazon rainforest are exposed to less environmental toxins than in Europe and can overall grow in an even healthier environment, they have a particularly strong effect, which is why the rules of conduct must be strictly adhered to and it is strongly advised to take only the food offered in the camp and to discuss any deviation beforehand.
Depending on your needs, a cure can take 14 days or one to several months and the rules of conduct and
diet vary.
